The Hawks Nest Lodge offers great access to cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. Take advantage of our excellent trail system, or explore the Maine woods without trails, as cross-country skiing is meant to be! Our Trail Master , Pete, takes great pride in maintaining the in town trails ! These trails offer great views, running alongside the Kennebec River. ITS 87 also runs right behind the lodge, so pre snowmobiling season, before the traffic jams on the snowmobile trails start, this also offers great skiing, thanks to Pete, and his many grooming contraptions !
