A Distinct Vacation Destination in Maine's Kennebec Valley

The Hawk's Nest Lodge is the most unique destination in Maine's Kennebec Valley. Home of great food, people, and atmosphere.

Our building is a one of a kind personally designed and built utilizing 100-200 year old American logs. Each log went through a petrification process for anywhere between 10 and 40 years which left only about 14% moisture. This made the logs light enough for two men to carry which made it possible for each log in this building to be hand-placed.

The wood carvings are the creative work of Maine Guide, Jeff Samudosky, who is annually ranked as one of the nations best carvers. He artfully crafts each carving with different size chainsaws. The two carvings on the deck were created especially for this building. The large totem was originally created for Yellowstone National Park and now stands tall here in the Hawk's Nest Lodge.

In 2009, owners Sarah Thrasher and Pete Dostie expanded the Hawk's Nest to include four new high-end suites in the lodge, in addition to the River House and Pleasant Pond Inn. With lots of trail side lodging options and centered in the hub of year-round recreation activites Sarah and Pete welcome you to come, explore and create memories in the Maine outdoors.
